Here at Hung Kuen, we offer some of the very best traditional martial arts tuition from a master Kung Fu practitioner & a team of professional black-belt martial arts instructors.

Based on Hung Kuen Kung Fu, a traditional Shaolin five-animal form, our training offers a complete system of martial arts covering self-defense, bare-hand techniques, weapons training & traditional forms combined with personal fitness & spiritual development.

TRAINING

We practice stance training and combinations to add to our strength, power, and flexibility of the techniques.

Form practice is also an important focus of our training & is practiced throughout.

FIVE ANIMALS

Our art traces its roots back to the ancient Shaolin Temple in China & its techniques are based on the movements of the 5 classical Kung Fu animal forms:

Dragon, tiger, snake, leopard & crane.

PROGRESSION

We utilise a grading system with each grade being represented by a coloured belt.

There are also opportunities for students to enter National Hung Kuen UK Championships, held twice yearly.

Read about our training system based on master KK Ang’s world-famous Hung Kuen kung fu system.

Hung Kuen is a traditional 5-animal Shaolin system that covers self-defence, stances & forms, sparring & pad training alongside training in a variety of traditional Shaolin weapons.

We also encourage students to pursue personal & spiritual development to offer a complete martial arts training program that assists students with their personal growth as well as their mastery of kung fu.

Our classes take place in Manchester within well-known public buildings.

TRAINING

DEFENCE

Hung Kuen has very useful modern self-defence applications.

Our techniques include methods that can help you evade attacks, to break-free from being restrained & much more!.

PADS &
SPARRING

Pad work and sparring are important parts of our training.

These techniques help you to learn correct timing and distance from your opponent as well as to increase your strength & stamina.

WEAPONS TRAINING

Our more advanced students (green belt onwards) will have the opportunity to practice weapons training.

This gives the opportunity to learn a variety of traditional kung-fu weapons.
